— As Dr Chidi Lloyd Assures Of More Government Projects In Odegu Clan
As the Emohua LGA chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) intensifies its ward-to-ward sensitization and mobilization rally across the 14 political wards in the LGA ahead of the general elections, communities in Odegu clan have declared total support for candidates of Rivers PDP in the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections.
The people of Rumuodogo, Rumuewhor and Eveku all in ward 14 (Odegu 2 ) in Emohua LGA made the declaration when the Emohua LGA campaign train of the PDP visited the ward in continuation of their ward-to-ward rally to galvanize support for candidates of the party in the 2023 general election on Monday.
At the rally held at Rumuodogo and Rumuewhor communities, the chairman of PDP in ward 14, Hon Okwukwe Alex said the people of Odegu in general cannot repay the PDP in Rivers State for the love shown to them through project distribution and government recognition.
The ward chairman mentioned the construction of Rumudogo 1 & 2 roads by Governor Nyesom Wike led the Rivers State government and the construction of Eveku community road by Dr Chidi Lloyd led Emohua local government within the same period as the best thing that has happened in Odegu clan in recent times, assured that the people will use their voters’ cards to appreciate the PDP by ensuring that all the polling units in the area were secured for candidates of the party in the governorship, National and State Assembly elections.
The leader of the PDP in ward 14, Chief C.I.D Nmerukini and other critical stakeholders who also took turns to acknowledge and appreciate the footprints of PDP administrations at the state and local government levels in Odegu reassured of the people’s preparedness to reciprocate the good works of the PDP in their communities by voting massively for candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
The chairman of Emohua LGA and campaign coordinator of the PDP in the LGA, Dr Chidi Lloyd who enjoined the people of Odegu to appreciate the PDP with their voters’ cards, hinted that the Nyesom Wike-led Rivers State government was already planning to embark on other critical infrastructure projects in the area, to complement the road infrastructure executed in Rumuodogo 1 & 2 communities.
He also acknowledged the appeal made by the leaders of the Rumuewhor community for the construction of an access road to link the community to the East-West road and promised to draw the attention of the state government to the concerns of the people.
He however expressed optimism that the communities in Odegu stand to enjoy more government presence if they vote massively for the governorship candidate of PDP in Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara to consolidate on the achievements of the present administration under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike.
The council chairman who commended the leadership of the PDP in ward 14 (Odegu 2) for the unprecedented mobilization of supporters at the rally, described the mammoth crowd at the first and second stop of the rally in Rumuodogo and Rumuewhor communities as a confirmation of the people’s love and support for the PDP.
The honourable commissioner Rivers State Ministry of Environment, Barr. Emenike Eke, Chairman of PDP in Emohua LGA, Hon Uche Minikwu and PDP caucus leader in the LGA, Eze Paul Wonodi took turns to encourage the people to vote massively for PDP candidates in order to attract more projects to Odegu.
Eze Paul Wonodi who introduced candidates of PDP in the election urged the people to not allow themselves to be deceived by failed politicians who never attracted any development to Odegu when they were in power, stressing that the victory of the PDP in Rivers State would bring many more dividends of good governance to Odegu communities.
Barr. Emenike Eke who expressed gratitude to Governor Nyesom Wike and the leadership of the PDP in Emohua LGA for finding him worthy to serve in the State executive council noted that his appointment was the first time Odegu clan produced a commissioner in Rivers State since the state was created.
He, therefore, reassured that the entire Odegu cannot afford to allow any other political party to get the vote from the area, stating that the people were already prepared and mobilized to reciprocate Governor Nyesom Wike’s kindness with their voters’ cards.
The National Assembly candidate for the Ikwerre-Emohua federal constituency seat, Hon Barr Boniface Emerengwa who spoke at Rumuewhor on behalf of PDP candidates in the elections appealed for massive support for the PDP in the national and state elections. He also pledge to donate another electricity transformer to the Rumuewhor community to replace the one he previously sent to the community but was mismanaged by electricity workers.
In his brief remark, former caretaker committee chairman of Emohua LGA, Engr. Nnamdi Abah said he attended the rally to celebrate the goodness of the PDP in Rumuodogo in particular and Odegu at large, following the construction of the Rumuodogo 1 and 2 roads by the Nyesom Wike-led PDP government in Rivers State. He urged the people to show appreciation to the party that has shown them love by voting massively for candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
Chief Lambert Obinwo, Chief Azundah Nkomadu, Hon Success Okporo, Hon John Douglas, Dr Solomon Ikunga, Mrs Vivian Okogbule and other notable leaders of ward 14 (Odegu 2) in their separate remarks reassured that the polling units across the ward were already secured for candidates of the PDP in the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections while waiting for further directive on the choice of Rivers people in the presidential election.
Earlier, the Emohua LGA PDP campaign train paid homage to the paramount rulers of Rumuodogo and Rumuewhor communities to seek their blessings before the commencement of the rallies in the communities.
The vice chairman of Emohua LGA, Hon Mrs Edna Nyeche and the leader of Emohua legislative council, Hon Mrs Love Nyenke joined the council chairman at the rally.
